Castle Comfort Lodge is a small (18 room) hotel situated near the south end of Dominica where the best diving can be found.

Dominica is famous for its seahorses like this one at Scott's Head Drop-off.

Sperm whales sometimes come right to the boat...

Dominica is a lush, mountainous island filled with rainforests, hundreds of rivers, and incredible diving. The cool breezes and lack of stagnant water means that there are few insects and you don't even need air conditioning. The locals are genuinely friendly towards visitors. The only problem with Dominica is getting on the plane to leave!

A hidden 100 foot waterfall in Syndicate National Park. More than 50% of Dominica is a nature preserve. It is one of the only islands in the Caribbean where the protection of nature is as important as development. No other Caribbean island has such unspoiled natural wonders. And because the economy is still based on agriculture, not tourism, places like this are not crowded. In fact, you may not see another person all day!

Basket Star on a night dive.

Octopus at night.

Frogfish are quite common on Dominica!
