Cayman Brac offers great diving and freedom from hordes of cruise ship tourists. Fortunately for divers, "The Brac", as it is known locally has very little to attract the average tourist. There is little beach area suitable for swimming, absolutely no shopping, and not much in the way of natural attractions save for some limestone caves. The North side of the island has a nice wall for those who like to peer down into the abyss and the South side has shallower diving with an abundance of elkhorn coral and deep narrow passages among the finger reefs. The two main hotels cater almost exclusively to divers and both maintain dive boats and shops. The Brac is also home port to the "Little Cayman Diver", a wonderful live-aboard dive boat which provides one of the best diving experiences this side of the Pacific.
