E & E Preparation

Who ever thought you'd see a Major painting a Lt. Colonel's face pretty colors!  Actually, it was necessary to work in pairs because it is pretty difficult to see your own face without a mirror!  This was the preparation for the Escape and Evasion exercise, where we would hide in the jungle while the local negritos looked for us.  We thought we had learned out lessons well and we all felt pretty confident about being able to hide effectively.  What most of us didn't realize, was that visual cues were only one of the ways we could be detected.  Most of us were caught by the acute sense of smell possessed by our pursuers!
