Taken from well south, this photo shows the early afternoon buildup
of towering cumulus clouds in the vicinity of Dalat Cam Ly. I guess it was just
quirk of the terrain that this storm would form almost every day. It was so
reliable, that I used it for navigation during the dry season. I called it the
"Dalat Thanderstorm" and by early to mid afternoon, it was visible from south of
Saigon and from well to the north of Pleiku. By late in the day, the clouds would
turn into a good-sized thunderstorm. This photo shows it just starting to build. |
