| Another generous donation from Dave Cooley, LtCol, USAF (Ret), this picture is of the airfield at Gia Nghia taken from an O-2. The name "airfield" is a misnomer here, because Gia Nghia's runway was formed by leveling the top of a small mountain. Although it is not obvious from this photo, taken almost directly overhead, both ends of the runway dropped away steeply. This field was prime territory for the C-7A Caribou, but a little dicey for the O-2. |
